2020 Montlouis Brut Nature, Domaine Francois Chidaine
A totemic figure in Montlouis, François Chidaine is responsible for some of the Loire’s finest Chenin Blancs. As well as an array of still wines (ranging from dry to lusciously sweet), he produces this gorgeous Traditional Method fizz. Labelled Brut Nature, the 2020 was bottled with zero dosage, but a warm growing season has resulted in appealing weight and ripeness on the mid-pallet. It spent some 18 months on the lees. Look out for an offer of new releases from Chidaine in spring next year.
