2019 Barolo Ravera, Elvio Cogno
The 2019 Ravera from Elvio Cogno is open and expansive on the nose, with myriad aromas including rose petal, hot stone, thyme and crushed red fruit. It’s just as transfixing on the palate, where a wealth of sweet, juicy fruit envelops tannins that are supple yet muscular. Cleansing acidity and a resounding mineral finish make for a tremendous sense of energy and place. In our book, this is the estate’s best Ravera to date.
