This is a gloriously fresh, expressive Viognier, grown at some 400m altitude, a stone’s throw from Saint-Joseph. The soil here is not dissimilar to Condrieu, albeit with a touch more clay. The wine is raised in foudre and sandstone jars, which really emphasise its mineral backbone. Not to be missed.
