A truly top-draw Grosse Lage, Herrenberg today has nothing to envy its neighbour Abtsberg. Herrenberg has a touch more red slate, to which Maximin attributes this wine’s subtle spiciness. Lush and inviting, the 2022 Kabinett boasts a wealth of ripe orchard and even candied fruit on the palate. This will drink well in its youth, but will gain complexity over the coming years as its mineral aspect continues to emerge.
