So, there is Domaine Bruno Lorenzon and then there is the rest of the Côte Chalonnaise. Quite simply, Bruno is nothing short of a genius maverick, setting his own standards and delivering consistently outstanding wines. He has such high levels of ambition and expectation that when tasting with him or discussing his approach to both viticulture and viniculture, it’s so easy to assume that you’re talking about the best vineyards of the Côte de Beaune or the Côte de Nuits.

The genius starts in the vineyards, which he farms organically and where yields are consistently very low and continues all the way through to bottling.  It’s in a challenging vintage like 2021 that Bruno really sets himself apart, his attention to detail and fastidiousness ensuring his finished wines are the peers of no-one. Bruno even designs and makes his own barrels.

He marks each of his vintages out of 20 and he gave his remarkable 2020s top marks, but these 2021s will not be very far behind. If you are still a Bruno virgin, we suggest you give into temptation and try these 21s out. You will not be disappointed. Sadly, all the wines will have to be allocated but we will do our best to fulfil as many of your wishes as we can.
