2022 marks a trilogy of vintages that show Bruno Lorenzon is very much at the peak of his powers. In his own words, 2020 is a 20/20 vintage and I would not disagree. 2021 was a nightmare, the frosts decimating yields and really testing the resolve of someone who adores his vineyards. Yet, the final wines are stunning and have surprised even Bruno: initially compact and reticent, they are starting to show some serious potential. And then we come to 2022, which appears to be pretty stunning. The telltale salinity that we saw elsewhere in Burgundy runs through all the wines and the intensity is thrilling, the wines crackling with electricity and delineation.
