2020 Atance Blanco, Atance

• £11.50/bottle •

Created by Toni Sarrion on the Conjeros Estate, 840 metres above sea level in Valencia. While this is what I was drinking throughout summer, the pure white flower aromas are a comfort all year round. In addition to the Blanco, the extremely food friendly red Bobal also provides excellent value under 20, which one can almost liken to Beaujolais Nouveau, with its bright red fruits and quaffable nature.

2018 Siblings Shiraz, Leeuwin Estate

• £19.00/bottle •

From the historic Australian estate which put Margaret River wines on the map, this spicy shiraz delivers a full and round body, ripe plum fruits with darker hints of coffee and star anise on the finish. One of three notable labels the estate produces, the Siblings Shiraz never fails to impress.

This pure, ripe Californian Pinot is made by the venerable Varner brothers, Jim and Bob, who set up Foxglove alongside their celebrated Varner Winery. 2017 is their first vintage produced under this label, and spice and tobacco elements have added to its array of characteristics to produce a supple, well-rounded wine.’

2019 Roero Arneis, Az. Agr. Matteo Correggia

• £17.00/bottle •

At our Italian en primeur tasting, this Arneis really stood out for us as an easy drinking mineral wine, under 20 with perfect white fruit. Contrary to the previously mentioned floral Atance Blanco, it’s the minerality which makes its claim as a top wine. With the terroir really expressed in the wine, there’s not a lot of thought needed but to sit back and enjoy it as a simple pleasure.

2019 Moulin-à-Vent ‘Cuvée des Thorins’, Château du Moulin-à-Vent

• £18.00/bottle •

Moulin-à-Vent is one of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais renowned for its longevity, and producer Edouard Parinet is a rising star of the area. His family bought the domaine over 10 years ago, and its members are now reaping the rewards of their investment and hard work. Of all their cuvees, Couvent des Thorins is the only wine which goes through Carbonic Maceration; the classic approach to Beaujolais provides an earthy bouquet and its dark fruits are ripe and pronounced.

2017 Chardonnay Yarra Valley, Ben Haines

• £17.00/bottle •

As one of the newest additions to the Stannary Wine roster of producers, we are really excited to witness the growing success of Ben Haines’ wines. In this Chardonnay, gorgeous tart fruit contrasts against its flinty, nutty nature providing a wine which allows you to witness the beauty in its complexity. Ben deserves all the plaudits coming his way for something so sophisticated and incredibly easy-drinking at the same time.
