Red Car Wine

Red Car’s origins go back to 2000 when they started out making Syrah from a garage in Santa Barbara. The philosophy changed however in 2004 with the move to Sebastopol and the shift to cool climate Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. They are in a very fortunate position in that they own a large proportion of the vineyards (60% and rising) that they work with. The quality of their wines has much to do with their farming skills and they have taken these farming practices beyond sustainability to incorporate organic and biodynamic methods. There is a wide variety in the ages of the vines (10 to 40 years) and this is borne out in the complexity of the wines but even at the entry level these wines are fresh. pure, bright and delicious. `Red Car and proprietor Carroll Kemp excel with delicate, understated wines from cool-climate sites most of which are on the true Sonoma Coast...the wines remain fresh, lifted and on the most restrained side of things.` Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2015
