Palazzo Vecchio

The history of this estate can be traced back to the fourteenth century when the lands were worked by local monks. Four hundred years later the Casagli family took over the estate before it finally fell into the hands of Count Riccardo Zorzi in 1952. It is a magnificent setting and the estate looks down across both Montepulciano and Cortona. The elevated vineyards mean cool fresh air sweeps across them during the height of summer, allowing the vines respite. The Vino Nobile is made from 85 Prugnolo Gentile, 10% Canailo Nero and 5% Mammolo. It is fermented in stainless steel and aged for two years in French barrels.
