Domaine Marc Roy

Alexandrine has been running this small family domaine for a few years now with real intensity and ambition. Despite having no 1er Cru vineyards she has made a real name for herself and consistently gets very positive reviews from Burgundy guru, Allen Meadows, aka Burghound. She makes three cuvées of Gevrey-Chambertin and we concentrate on her Clos Prieur. Clos Prieur is one of those vineyards part of which is classified as 1er Cru, part of which as Village. Hers is from the village parcel but borders the 1er Cru and the vines are old. It’s an excellent parcel and she really gets the most from it. The vieilles vignes cuvée is good but the Clos Prieur is better.
