Brooks was founded in 1998 by the visionary Jimi Brooks. They own twenty acres of vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills, a sub-region of the Willamette Valley characterised by higher altitudes and the ocean winds that blow through the Van Duzer Corridor. The estate vineyard and winery were Demeter certified for biodynamics in 2012 and sustainability plays an important role for the winery. In addition to the estate vineyard, which is planted with Riesling and Pinot Noir, winemaker Chris Williams works with over 25 sites from other family growers throughout the region and in the Columbia Gorge. Brooks focus on small vineyard parcels and blending the wines of these is pivotal in their winemaking. Their aim is to achieve balance and varietal as well as regional typicity without adding anything else to the wine. The 2014 vintage was produced at Brooks’ new state of the art winemaking facility, enabling them to improve their quality further.
The grapes for this wine come from vines in Brooks` Yamhill vineyards and from their Brooks Estate. Elevage takes place in stainless steel to retain the vibrant fruit character of Willamette Valley Riesling.
Willamette Valley is Brooks` driest bottling, is a snapshot of their Riesling sources throughout the Willamette Valley. This is a zesty, crisp and precise wine.
