2016 Bourgogne Roncevie
- Wine colour
- France > Burgundy > Côte de Nuits
- Domaine Arlaud Père & Fils
This is from a vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin that is an extension of a village vineyard but was never upgraded (supposedly because the Arlaud family are from Morey!). It`s a virtual monopoly (Pierre Duroché has a little bit) and once agan has produced a wine that over delivers for its level. Lots of fragrance, a strong mid palate wth a sense of purpose and excellent length suggesting lots to come.
`The 2016 Bourgogne Roncevie is fully destemmed with five percent new oak. It has a fragrant bouquet with pure blueberry and raspberry fruit, quite vigorous considering that it had only been bottled the previous day. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannin, a fine line of acidity, a little sinewy toward the finish but there is decent length here.` 85-87 points, Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate.
