2015 St Romain Blanc
Very atractive on the nose. Ample! The palate is forward with good concentration - the vines here are 55 years old and situated on stony, well exposed soil. The fruit element is ripe and sweet with a firm backbone of freshness. Well balanced with good structure, in part due to 15% new oak (500l barrel). Drink from 2017.
`This year, Mark Haisma has blended together the parcel in Le Jarron with Combe Bazin to make his 2015 Saint Romain Village. It has a tightly knit, green apple, Conference pear and white peach-scented bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is fresh and saline on the entry, very well balanced with a twist or bitter lemon, quite brisk and poised with a long finish. Recommended.` 87-89 points, Neal Martin, robertparker.com
