2015 Mercurey "Vieilles Vignes"
This comes from 60 year old vines and offers ripe, red forest berry on the nose and palate, good concentration of fruit in the middle and soft tannins, nice length. Drink from 2018.
`Rich and grainy nose. Solid country stuff. Just slightly pinched. Strawberry fruit. But it falls away a bit.` 15.5/20, Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com
`Another wine that caught my eye […] This comes from 50-year-old vines, entirely destemmed and matured in 25-30% new oak for 10 months. It combines the rustic DNA of Mercurey with judicious winemaking to create a pure, grippy Pinot Noir that will give a lot of pleasure over the next four or five years.` Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2019
