This a delightful entry to the range of red wines. From 2.5 hectares of vineyards this wine is aged in stainless steel and in youth shows delightfully fresh and lively, bright red fruit flavours before gently filling out and growing in intensity as it reaches its second birthday.

Press Reviews:

`Cogno`s 2012 Dolcetto d`Alba Mandorlo emerges from the glass with sweet red cherries, plums, cinnamon, pine and new leather, all in a deep, resonant style with plenty of richness. The 2012 finishes with a classic sense of austerity and grip that is typical of Dolcetto` 90/100 - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

`Blackcurrant, bitter herbs, dark chocolate and liquorice. It’s a strong statement of flavour, and it works brilliantly. Getting that herbal bitterness matched with the fruit intensity and just the right volume is no mean feat. Plus there`s light oak spice to give the finish an extra richness. Superb concentration. ` 17+/20 - Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com

`At 14.5% alcohol, this lively, perfumed Dolcetto from Elvio Cogno is no shrinking violet even if violets come to mind on the nose, but its bright red fruit flavours are full of crunchy summer pudding succulence and mouthwatering bite, making it the perfect foil, perhaps everso slightly chilled in the summertime, for pasta, barbecued chicken and sausages. Goes with: Chicken, Lamb, Pizza and pasta, Pork and other white meats.` 89 points, The Wine Gang, May 2017
