2014 Rully Blanc en Bas de Vauvry

Wine colour
France > Burgundy > Côte Chalonnaise
Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot
Tasting Notes:

From a well-sited plot of vines just below the 1ers Crus this is aged in a mix of stainless, steel, old barrels and a few new ones (about 20%). Too much steel and the wine might be too lean, too much oak then too heavy. This seems to be just right. There is plenty of richness but there is drive and good acid on the finish lifting the fruit and adding length and interest. Drink from 2017.

Press Reviews:

`Good tension on the nose. Super clean and fresh. Most impressive definition, structure and delicacy.` - 16.5/20 points, Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, drink from 2016
