2014 Langhe Nebbiolo Montegrilli

Wine colour
Italy > Piedmont
Elvio Cogno
Tasting Notes:

This used to be a 50/50 blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo but from the 2012 vintage it has become a straight Nebbiolo. In both guises it provides a lot of wine for the money. Made without oak, this is a brilliantly pure example. Must be tried.

Press Reviews:

`The 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo Montegrilli shows just how beautiful Nebbiolo can be here on the property. Lavender, wild flowers, mint, cherry and plums are all wonderfully vibrant on the palate. Aging in steel keeps the flavors bright and fresh throughout.` 90 pts, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com

`A few extra years in bottle has given this unoaked Nebbiolo a real saline edge to the berry fruit and herbal, tisane-like tannins. Savoury, linear and fresh, showing fine complexity and a lightness of touch, from a 1ha organically farmed vineyard in Ravera.` 92 points, Tina Gellie, Decanter, June 2019
