2014 Durell Vineyard Pinot Noir
Brilliant garnet in colour, the nose reveals classic Durell notes of light spice and blackberry tart. Coffee grounds, pine and clove add to its complexity. On the palate, a unique fusion of rhubarb and tart black cherry flavors create a succulent finish, while maintaining Durell’s signature spice and smooth, unctuous mouthfeel.
`The 2013 Pinot Noir Durell Vineyard is gorgeous. Here the flavors are bold and juicy throughout. Sweet red cherries, pomegranate and plum notes abound. Racy and flamboyant, the 2013 possesses terrific mid-palate depth and a creamy, voluptuous finish that is impossible to resist, with hints of smoke and earthiness that add elements of darkness. This is a fabulous showing from Gavin Chanin.` 93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
` Black cherry, peppery spice, angular acidic finish. Light tannin, strong oak spice influence on the finish. ` - 17 points, Richard Hemming MW - www.jancisrobinson.com
`Delicate, almost reticent red-fruited nose, complemented by touches of flower and earth. Ample, balanced, fresh and limpid, this has spice-decorated strawberry and cherry fruit leading onto a long, savoury and spice finish.` 90 points, Decanter (Stephen Brook, James Doidge, Ronan Sayburn MS), June 2018
