2014 Durell Vineyard Chardonnay

Wine colour
USA > California > Sonoma County
Tasting Notes:

Very fresh and complex on the nose, this wine delivers aromas of lemon curd, honeysuckle and juicy pear. Lychee, pineapple and hints of honey add weight and textural richness to the palate. A slight nuttiness rounds out the minerality, creating a long, complex finish.

Press Reviews:

`Apricot pit, earthiness, smoke and spices flesh out in the 2013 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard. Here, the wine has a distinct pear-like shape, with notable intensity up-front and less persistence through the mid-palate and finish. I tend to perceive Durell as a site that is intrinsically better suited to a richer style of wine. Still the 2013 Lutum offers solid balance and plenty of appeal even if it comes across as not fully developed.` 90 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2015

`This is a finely-honed California Chardonnay grown on Los Robles gravelly clay loam for an intensely perfumed dry white with floral aromas and rich, full-flavoured toffee and butterscotchy fruit whose concentration of flavour is nicely cut by an incisive citrus-fresh acidity that brings balance and style to a power-packed wine. Goes with: Chicken, Fish and seafood.` 92 points, The Wine Gang, May 2017
