2014 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

Wine colour
France > Burgundy > Côte de Nuits
Domaine Taupenot-Merme
Tasting Notes:

This is more backward than the Corton, and shows quite broad, powerful fruit at this stage for a Charmes, though not too overtly masculine. A stylish structure adds real depth and a proper core to this wine. Very promising and lots of potential. Drink from 2020

Press Reviews:

`Here the pretty, fresh and even airy nose is distinctly floral in character with lovely notes of mostly red currant, earth and soft underbrush nuances. There is good richness to the round and solidly well-concentrated flavors that culminate in a dusty, palate coating and beautifully long finish. This isn`t as structured as the Mazoyères but will certainly require at last 7 to 8 years of restraint.` - 91/100 points, Allen Meadows, burghound.com, drink from 2026
