2013 Eileen Vineyard Pinot Noir

Wine colour
USA > Oregon > Willamette Valley
Cristom Vineyards
Tasting Notes:

Eileen is one of the oldest plots and sits atop the estate. This has an impressive sense of vibrancy and bite. There is nice power and intensity but as always the colour is light and delicate. Drink from 2018

Press Reviews:

Bright red. Tightly wound red berry and Asian spice aromas pick up a suave floral nuance with air. Silky and precise, offering energetic raspberry and bitter cherry flavors with a touch of star anise. A suave, seamless Pinot with no excess weight. Closes tangy and very long, with silky tannins and lingering spiciness. Drink. 2018-2023 92 Points, Josh Raynolds (Vinous.com) `The 2013 Pinot Noir Eileen was picked as soon as it could after the September storm, still 20 days after the Louise Vineyard. It has a clean and fresh red cherry and strawberry scented bouquet that displays fine tension. The palate is fresh on the entry with bright red cherry and strawberry notes, though the mid-palate feels a little hard at the moment and probably lacks the flesh that it might have had in 2012 and 2014. It is still balanced and clean, an achievement given the growing season, but it feels just deprived of some persistence on the finish. Drink. 2017-2026.` 88 Points, Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com

Jessie enjoys the steepest aspect of the estate and produces arguably the most Burgundian-like wine of all the single vineyard offerings. This 2013 has a delightful mix of spice, red fruits and fresh, brambly Pinot character. Drink. 2019-2024

`No critical reviews of this wine but it looks set to win many friends, perhaps too many as there isn`t very much! The vintage is a good one and this wine is quite grandiose and intense with delicious tannins and sense of sophistication. Very limited.` Jason Haynes
