2013 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

Wine colour
France > Burgundy > Côte de Nuits
Domaine Taupenot-Merme
Tasting Notes:

This is more backward than the Corton, and shows quite broad, powerful fruit at this stage for a Charmes, though not too overtly masculine. A stylish structure adds real depth and a proper core to this wine. Very promising and lots of potential. Drink from 2020

Press Reviews:

`If I didn’t know that Romain Taupenot destemmed his grapes, I could swear that were some whole bunches here. This is chiselled for a Charmes, which can be soft and comparatively forward among the Gevrey Grands Crus. Power, elegance and focus, with a hint of reduction and filigree tannins. Drink 2018-28` 96 points, Tim Atkin MW, Burgundy 2013 Report
