2012 Demuth Vineyard Pinot Noir
This 30 year old vineyard made up from seven acres of Pinot Noir and eight acres of Chardonnay was planted by the Demuth family. The age of the vines enables the vineyards to be dry farmed to improve sustainability.
`A gorgeous wine, the 2012 Pinot Noir Demuth is all about balance. Here, the more favourable growing season yielded a Pinot long on class and elegance. Bright cranberry, flowers and cinnamon jump from the glass, but ultimately, the 2012 is a wine of texture and depth, with better balance than the 2012 and tons of near-term appeal.` 94 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous `Bright ruby. Heady aromas of red and dark berry liqueur, lavender and incense are sharpened by a zesty mineral quality. Offers vibrant boysenberry and cola flavours and a hint of liquorice, along with a suave floral character. Acts a lot like an elegant northern Rhône Syrah, but with Pinot’s delicate touch. Closes with strong sappy persistence and a sweetening vanilla nuance.` 91 points, Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar
