This is a new wine for us. The soil here is very stony with blue slate and the resultant minerality in the wine is delicious. It is very saline and taut with lovely bite and seamless joins. Drink from 2017.

Old vines here, with two parcels averaging fifty years of age. The soil is blue clay which provides richness and texture, though everything is kept in balance. The 10% new oak adds some structure and complexity and the evident weight, which comes, in part, from the low yields, is well controlled. Drink from 2018.

Rich and unctuous but balanced and long with complex aromas and flavours. Plenty of stuffing and excellent length. Drink from 2019.

This vineyard is slightly higher up, facing south-east on the famous hill of Vergisson with a much more limestone soil. It`s incredibly racy and mineral with a real sense of chalk and precision. Long, driven, and well defined, it is very classy.

This is the first of Gilles` top 2 cuvées which sits high on the slope at 350 metres above sea level on a clay dominated soil. The combination of slope, soil and altitude typically produces a wine of both richness and vitality and this 2016 is exactly that. Despite the obvious concentration there is no hint of heaviness and the finish is clean, long and lively.

As a range these wines have a sumptuous richness without tending towards the heavy, with plenty of spice and stoniness. If they have been able to produce this quality in their first vintage then what is to come will be very exciting indeed.

"The 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Aux Bouthières is excellent, unfurling from the glass with a generous bouquet of honeyed peaches and buttered orchard fruit, accented by bright touches of citrus zest and flowers. On the palate, it`s medium to full-bodied, textural and three-dimensional, with bright acids, excellent purity and a saline, mineral finish. It`s an attractively classical Pouilly-Fuissé that`s the highlight of this new producer`s portfolio". 93 points,Mr William Kelley from Robert Parker.
