There are two parcels that go to make up this wine, one of forty year old vines and one of sixty years old. The soil is blue clay and the yields are low. It sees about 10% new oak. This is perhaps the richest of the various cuvées, showing a lush texture and weight yet, as always at this domaine, avoiding heaviness. Lots of pleasure here. Drink from 2017.

Old vines here, with two parcels averaging fifty years of age. The soil is blue clay which provides richness and texture, though everything is kept in balance. The 10% new oak adds some structure and complexity and the evident weight, which comes, in part, from the low yields, is well controlled. Drink from 2018.

This is the first of Gilles` top 2 cuvées which sits high on the slope at 350 metres above sea level on a clay dominated soil. The combination of slope, soil and altitude typically produces a wine of both richness and vitality and this 2016 is exactly that. Despite the obvious concentration there is no hint of heaviness and the finish is clean, long and lively.

This comes from the most famous vineyard in Vergisson, the vineyards sitting high up on the south-east facing slopes. This is a very different wine to the one above, being more crystalline and saline, almost more delicate. More minerals, more flowers and more acidity. Horses for courses. Delightful wine. Drink from 2019.

This Fuissé comes from the best bit of the famous hill of Vergisson. The vines are old, the slope is steep and well exposed with great minerality and stoniness in the soil. Great tension and purity. Drink from 2016.

This vineyard is slightly higher up, facing south-east on the famous hill of Vergisson with a much more limestone soil. It`s incredibly racy and mineral with a real sense of chalk and precision. Long, driven, and well defined, it is very classy.

Great value Fuissé that comes from various vineyards around the domaine and is aged in stainless steel rather than wood to preserve its vitality.

This single vineyard wine is all about minerality and purity, showing real poise in the mouth. Sadly there is very little! Drink from 2014.

This is a new wine for us. The soil here is very stony with blue slate and the resultant minerality in the wine is delicious. It is very saline and taut with lovely bite and seamless joins. Drink from 2017.

From 70-year-old vines. Excellent concentration, showing real potential. A touch of oak spice mingles with the grapey, white flowered purity of the fruit. Drink from now.

In theory this is the flagship wine of the domaine, although we find it difficult to split the three cuvées on quality. This is certainly the richest of the three and the most textural. There is almost a grapey concentration that fills the mouth with ripe, white and green fruits. Drink from 2018.

Rich and unctuous but balanced and long with complex aromas and flavours. Plenty of stuffing and excellent length. Drink from 2019.
