About Domaine Heitz Lochardet:

Armand Heitz began making wine in 2013 after taking over the family domaine. Up until then, his family had contracted out its vineyards, and Armand had to wait for the contracts to expire, which they have done one by one over the past three years. Armand is an intelligent and talented young man and has achieved instant success with his wines. He seems equally adept with both red and white wines, maintaining his gentle touch across both colours. His Pommards are most elegant and refined for the appellation, a sensation that comes partly from his keen use of whole bunches. New oak is kept at around 25%, and extraction is subtle and understated, with just 3 or 4 pigeages (done by foot) at the beginning followed by pumping over. The whites are made in a reductive style with a delicious struck-match quality and a seamless line of energy.
