About Domaine Génot-Boulanger:

Guillaume Lavolée is the fourth generation to run the estate after taking over in 2008 from his father-in-law, who retired completely three years later in 2011. Based in Meursault, it totals 22 hectares, spread across 30 different appellations, split fairly evenly between red and white, with vines both in the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune as well as 4 hectares in Mercurey in the Côte Chalonnaise. The domaine operates organically and will be certified later in 2018. Guillaume doesn’t de-stem all his red wines, keeping about 25% of whole bunches in most of the Premier Crus and Grands Crus and more in some cuvées when conditions are suitable. New oak is well managed between 20% and 40%, and extraction is gentle and unobtrusive. Guillaume is a quietly passionate and determined vigneron, and he is overseeing a domaine very much in the ascendancy. This is a fine source of both reds and whites which we are delighted to be able to include in this list for the first time.

Domaine Génot-Boulanger in the press:

“An extensive domaine with 22 ha including some in the Côte Chalonnaise. 30% whole-bunch reds, which are impressive, as are the whites.”
