Domaine de la Guicharde

Arnaud and Isabelle Guicharde have been running this biodynamic estate since 1988. It is based in the Massif Uchaux area just to the east of Mondragon, a quieter, very beautiful part of the southern Rhône, which has a certain unspoilt wildness. Their 40 hectares of vines are planted with Grenache and Syrah and four different white varietals (Viognier, Marsanne, Roussane and Grenache Blanc) on a mix of sandy, chalky, gravelly soil. This area is dry, warm and windy, which produces concentrated grapes with natural intensity and crunch.
