About Château du Moulin-à-Vent:

The Parinet family bought this well-sited domaine 10 years ago and have invested huge amounts of time and money into it, renovating both the cuverie and the cellar and re-invigorating the vineyards. Their determination and passion have really paid off as this sleeping giant has been truly re-awoken. They have placed a real importance onto the vineyard sites with various different cuvées being produced reflecting the variation in both soil and exposure of the land around the cellars. Vinification is more Burgundian than Beaujolais with only the entry cuvée, Couvent des Thorins, subject to carbonic maceration. The other wines are aged slowly in barriques, some new, and like all the best examples from this resurgent appellation, have elements of fine Cote d’Or Pinot Noir about them. The main Château cuvée comes from 4 different parcels (Les Thorins, Les Caves, Les Moulin-à-Vent and La Rochelle. The Croix des Verillats comes from a well-exposed site of sand and granite soil, whilst the Champ de Cour comes from a cooler site with more clay in the soil.
