Xavier Horiot of Domaine Launay-Horiot and Armand Heitz of Domaine Heitz-Lochardet are relatively new names in Burgundy, and have been proving their mettle year after year since we first tasted their wines. Xavier`s story has been one of uncertainly, as he nearly lost his estate in Pommard to the complexities of Burgundy inheritance, but luckily for Burgundy lovers, he took a wine course in Bordeaux during the legal process and came out the other side with some excellent parcels in Pommard and Gevrey-Chambertin. Armand Heitz also played a game in patience as he waited for various contracts that his family had in place to sell their fruit to come to an end so he could take back production and start making wines himself from the old winery in Chassagne-Montrachet. When he released his first vintage (the 2013 vintage), it was clear to us that it was well worth waiting for.
With both winemakers, we are thrilled that their patience paid off, and we are delighted to host both of these talented winemakers on Monday 3rd December, 2018 for a winemaker dinner at 110 de Taillevent.
