  • 100% syrah from a one-acre vineyard on the North Fork. Partially destemmed and spontaneously fermented in open-top vessel. Aged in neutral wood, new wood, and stainless steel. Dark fruit. - C Nicolson

  • The 2016 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) is an addition to Gavin Chanin`s range. Sweet red cherry and floral notes are nicely pushed forward in this tasty, appellation-level Pinot. Drink it over the next few years. -- Antonio Galloni, 90 points, Vinous.

  • From just a single acre of vines, this expressive Sauvignon Blanc is a considerable level above almost all others that we`ve tried from the Napa. The fruit is gently pressed, followed by fermentation with wild native yeasts in a mix of stainless steel and oak barrels (around 10% new oak). A malolactic fermentation is avoided, to intensify the freshness and citrus zip. The wine is then aged sur lies, adding texture and layers of complexity. The wine has aromas of grapefruit, lemon, summer herbs and touch of elderflower, with a lovely mouth feel and texture. The palate is long and nuanced, finishing with impressive minerality. Very classy wine from Diana Snowden. Only 240 bottles made it to the UK...get it while you can.

This wine offers both the sweet and the savory, with a heady mix of violet, Kirsch, smoked meats, anise and black olives. On the palate, it is firm and full-bodied, with an age-worthy, almost Cabernet like structure. An acid-driven freshness underscores the flavors, adding length and dimension to this sophisticated Syrah.

Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Royal St. Robert struts a super savory nose of chargrilled meats, yeast extract, wood smoke and forest floor with a core of wild strawberries, raspberry tart and cranberries plus touches of dried Provence herbs and truffles. The medium-bodied palate reveals a chewy frame with seamless acid supporting a great core of expressive, earthy layers culminating in a long, mineral-laced finish. - Lisa Perrotti Brown 94

This appellation is widely described as `sprawling` as it encompasses half or more of the county. Anthill Farm`s fruit comes from two of the coolest, most coastal parts of this appellation. The low coast, west of Sebastopol on the edge of the Petaluma Gap; and the high coast, the first or second ridge inland from the ocean farther to the north. These sites are united by the direct influence of the Pacific‘s cool, marine air, delaying ripening well into October. The 2013 is one of the most precise Sonoma Coast wines Anthill Farms have made to date: detailed aromas of fresh-cut cranberry mix with satsuma rind and cracked fennel seed. The palate is warm and inviting, with waves of gentle, liquid tannin spilling over the tongue, all leading to a long, gauzy finish. This wine is quite approachable on release, but three or four years of aging will be very rewarding.

  • The 2016 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is laced with the essence of blood orange, bright red fruit, mint and white pepper. Medium in body, gracious and lifted, the Sonoma Coast Pinot has so much to offer. Year in, year out, Failla`s Sonoma Coast Pinot is one of the very best wines in its price range. Don`t miss it. 90 points Galloni

`The flagship wine of the range and there are hints of the Cote de Nuits about this. Minerals, stone, flowers and spice. Again, there is a string freshness and spine throughout and the wine finishes long and stylishly.` Jason Haynes

`No critical reviews of this wine but it looks set to win many friends, perhaps too many as there isn`t very much! The vintage is a good one and this wine is quite grandiose and intense with delicious tannins and sense of sophistication. Very limited.` Jason Haynes

The 2015 Chardonnay White Hill is refined, elegant and lifted, with plenty of bright citrus, white pepper and floral overtones. This is in a decidedly delicate, restrained style for Liquid Farm. Antonio Galloni 91
