2008 was an exceptional vintage in Champagne but it is one for the cellar. Made exclusively from Grand Cru grapes from Chouilly. This has great depth, power and energy and is a very exciting prospect for the future. The wines were tasted by the Flint/Stannary team without knowing the price and this was the one that we were furthest away from in our guesses. A strong recommendation for your cellar. Cepage . Chardonnay 100 % Dosage . 5 g/l Cru . Chouilly

However, the quality is fantastic as the wine shows great varietal character and punch. Youthful, energetic and pure it really over delivers. Drink from 2016

This cuvée comes from a terrific plot of fairly young wines planted in the Chaillots lieu dits that produces tiny yields of great quality fruit. There is only 0.3 hectares and only around 125 dozen bottles are made. It is 100% whole cluster and aged in large new oak barrels. The soil here is very granitey and its influence pervades right through both the nose and the palate. A great wine that will get better and better. Drink from 2017

Les Aventures takes its name from one small parcel in Chouilly which has a particularly chalky soil. The blend is made from wines from the best vintages which have complimentary characteristics. The bottles are aged in the Lenoble chalk cellars before release but the wine will continue to improve for many years. Bottling is done by hand using the traditional stapled corks and each bottle has been numbered for identification. Riddling and disgorging are also done by hand. The second fermentation is allowed to occur under cork, creating a complex, oxidative character. Cepage . Chardonnay 100 % Dosage . 3 g/l Cru . Chardonnay
