"Équinoxe: equal day, equal night. Equal heat of the day, equal cold of the night. Equal new world, equal old world. The 2014 Équinoxe Syrah is comprised of fruit grown in various sub-appellations in the South Okanagan Valley: the Black SageBench and Osoyoos West Bench, East Bench and Lake District. ""This wine is inspired by the masters of the northern Rhône, and takes the route of a blend of sub-appellations rather than a single vineyard expression. Hedgerow and bramble notes are joined by savoury, mulchy scents. Delicious and pure, it has an intensity of undergrowth, tobacco, cedar and black fruit in the mouth which comes across with freshness and length. Aged in French oak barrels and puncheons, 56% new."" James Button, Decanter Magazine, Tasted May 2018 "
2016 Fortissimo albeit young, and coming from a structured vintage is drinking well already. "Fine and fleshy, dark fruit scented, savoury, firm, drinkable, with fine acids, succulent and juicy. Plenty of dark cherry fruit, damson plums, black raspberry and more, with really nicely integrated wood influence. A balanced, savoury, essence, with very good to excellent length." 91 points - John Szabo MS, Wine Align, July 2018
"Maestoso is the highest peak in the crescendo, that moment of majesty. It is our flagship wine and the jewel in the crown of LaStella. Silk Gloves come on, no expense is spared, and we pulled no punches. Maestoso is the reason we get out bed at the crack of dawn and continue the back breaking work till late in the evening. Maestoso is always opaque in color and 2015 is no different. On the nose, one finds pronounced notes of dark bramble fruit, dark roast coffee, black cherries, forest floor and vintage cigar box. Huge mouth coating velvety tannins lead through to an astonishing finish lasting well over a minute. A monumental wine indeed that restores wine lover’s faith in Merlot. Even the biggest nay sayers will be wowed." review from the winery.
