Champagne AR Lenoble Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2008

2008 Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Chouilly
Champagne AR Lenoble

2008 was an exceptional vintage in Champagne and was one for the cellar; we're thrilled that our patience has paid off and it is . Made exclusively from Grand Cru grapes from Chouilly. This has great depth, power and energy and is a very exciting wine. The wines were tasted by the Stannary team without knowing the price and this was the one that we were furthest away from in our guesses. A strong recommendation for your cellar. Cepage . Chardonnay 100 % Dosage. 5 g/l Cru . Chouilly

Just 0.55 of a hectare, with an average vine age of just over 60 years. The 30% of new oak adds a touch of spice, but is otherwise already integrated. Very concentrated with lots of texture and very long flavours. In 2013 he decided to extend the élevage
of his wines by 3 to 4 months which
helped give them more precision and
focus.

 Mail Road Pinot Noir 2012
2012 Mt Carmel Estate Pinot Noir Blocks 3,5
Mail Road Wines

The story of this wine is all about the iconic 22.5 acre vineyard with its lean soil and persistent, and yield reducing winds. The resulting wine is rare and very special. The intensity of the fruit copes with the 42% of new oak with the ease of a Grand Cru Burgundy, leaving such purity. There is a central core of power, but wrapped in delicate, pretty flavours that will age gracefully. A beauty.

Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Vaucrains

2009 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Vaucrains
Domaine Robert Chevillon
Buy now for £1275 per 12 in bond

This wine was one of the older parcels sourced direct from the cellars in Burgundy for our recent Non Primeur tasting, and luckily arrived just in time for the holidays! In 2012, Antonio Galloni said it "needs to be buried in a deep, cold cellar for several years", and the pristine provenance of this wine means that it should prove a delight now, nine years on. Perfect with the sweet fruit of the Christmas turkey.
