About Domaine du Roc des Boutires:

This is the second domaine in the list owned by the Parinet family (the other being Château du Moulin-à-Vent) and it is a fascinating one. The family purchased it in 2015, and 2016 is the first vintage under the ambitious new regime. The domaine totals a mere 4.2 hectares, in the central part of the appellation that shares the same substratum as the best sites in the Côte d’Or. It has 14 different parcels of varying altitude, some of which are blended and some of which are kept separate as single-vineyard cuvées. Overall the vines are now around 40 years old, and yields are low. The wines are aged in a mix of stainless steel and oak, some of which is new, depending upon the cuvée. As a range, the wines have a sumptuous richness without tending towards the heavy, with plenty of spice and stoniness.
